About the role
A large part of what runs on the platform is not film. Articles, carousels, podcast artwork, motion design, and the typography and layout that give each program its own identity in the feed. This role owns that side of the studio's craft, and the visual standard it is held to. When a program has a strong identity, you can feel it in the rhythm of the feed before you read a word.
You design the identity of each program with the maison it belongs to, art-direct the editorial formats, and set the typographic and motion standards the studio works to. The work has to sit comfortably next to a maison's own campaigns, and it has to read on a phone held in one hand in a busy store.
What you will do
- Design the visual identity of each program: type, layout, colour, motion language.
- Art-direct articles, carousels and podcast artwork, and build the templates the studio produces from.
- Own motion design across the platform, down to the way a carousel moves in the feed.
- Shape the rhythm of the feed with the content team: what a week of a program looks and feels like.
- Review outgoing work, and hold the standard across everything editorial the studio ships.
What we look for
- A portfolio strong in editorial design and motion, with typography doing the heavy lifting.
- Years of art direction in luxury, media or a studio whose work you would gladly show us.
- Command of the tools of layout and motion, and precision in the details maisons notice.
- The judgement to design systems other people can execute well, and to know when to break them yourself.
- An eye for how design behaves at phone size, in seconds, in the middle of a working day.
Practicalities
Full-time, based in our London office, with three days a week there as the default. The working language is English. Start as soon as you can.
